Abstract

Frequently in politics, individuals or parties supposedly anachronistic, recover their vigor and become relevant again. This is the case of Bussi, one of the bloodiest repressors of the argentinian dictatorship. His intervention in the democratic political arena was understood by the majority of the analysts as an attempt of authoritarian restoration, such interpretation based on the assumption that the political Bussi was an exact copy of the dictatorship participant. This work questions that assumption, through an analysis of the interpellation strategies employed by Bussi during the dictatorship and in the democra tic period. The conclusion of the paper is that the argument that the military Bussi and the democratic Bussi are the
same is clearly wrong. Bussism can be considered democratic because the democratic regime was open to re–defi nitions.
