Abstract

Urban centers are polysemic places in the city, except when they get homogeneous and specialized. The urban challenge consists in building the city on the city: regenerating,
rehabilitating, finishing, developing new metropolitan centers, guaranteeing their mobility, access and variety. In the city of cities mobility and visibility are civil rights.
The answer to urban challenges is to provide urban projects based on different aims. Civic participation is a political and cultural discussion, guided by explicit political
objectives and by the upcoming of implicit cultural values and social interests. Public space is a political, urban and cultural challenge.
