Abstract

This work analyzes the different forms of participation of Cuban women as of 1959. Beginning with an analytical overview of the process of women’s incorporation into the different spheres of social action, it explores both the achievements of this group and the effective limitations that are imposed —in the realm of true gender equality— by
current forms of women’s participation in Cuban public life.
