Reclutamiento y profesionalización política: reflexiones sobre los parlamentarios españoles

Abstract

The concept of political representation is currently undergoing in a process of change and is also highly complex due to factors such as the perception that citizens have of the role of politicians and the behavior of these in the fulfillment of their functions.

Studies of politicians are a classical topic for the political sciences but very little is known about who governs us and almost nothing about their ""quality"", values and incentives. This paper presents data and reflections on deputies in Spain with the objective of contributing to filling in these lacunae.
