El difícil camino del cambio democrático en Haití
Abstract
For the past decade Haiti has been experiencing a democratic revolution with ample popular participation, within the framework of a national project of modernization of the State, social justice and economic development. This process has disturbed the traditional international relations of the country’s most conservative power sectors, and lead to the return to power, as a result of a U.N. intervention of President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, democratically elected in 1990 and who was ousted by a coup d'Etat... Following Aristide’s return, the army has split. The renewal of the State, based on free elections from the municipalities to Parliament and even Presidency, augur a profound change in the Haitian political system.Downloads
