La crisis y el ajuste cubano en los noventa: apuntes en torno a lo social

Abstract

This paper outlines the role played by the social sector within development strategies designed in Cuba, as well as the effects that the recent economic situation and the adjustment derived therefrom have had on the social sector’s role. This constitutes a necessary antecedent for an understanding of the conditions in which a new model of social policies ought to be formulated in the future, in tune with the transformations already under way in the economy and which will doubtless continue.
