Abstract

In the increasing literature on population and environment, there is frequent reference to the complexity of the relationships among population dynamics, economic processes and the environmental conditions that surround them. This paper examines some of the methodological possibilities derived from contemporary formulations of the concept of complexity, which could provide a systemic and interdisciplinary approach to the problem.
