Based on his ample, long and successful professional experience, the author presents a series of reflections on the social sciences aimed at those who begin their studies. It deals, in particular, with the dilemmas faced by students at the periphery, in the margins, or at the frontiers of the social sciences. For that purpose, he creates an imagined student in search of a space to satisfy his/her curiosity and to soothe the feelings of uneasiness that arise from an academic world difficult to understand and accept.Downloads
