Saber técnico y política en los orígenes del menemismo

Abstract

This paper examines the role played by a group of experts in the new direction given to Argentine economic policy under the Menem administration. This analysis will make it possible to develop some more general hypotheses about the role of "symbolic analysts" and specialized knowledge in the dynamics of politics in general, and in the process of creating public policies in particular, as has been taking place in several Latin American countries.
